I am experienced working with students that are in a resource room setting, or Title I Reading, or Reading Recovery. I am experienced in reading and following an IEP. Q: What professional reading resources do you use? A: Much of my material is phonics-based. I have over 100 resource items to choose from. Some common company-based resources I use are: School Zone, Houghton Mifflin based texts, Learning Horizons, Scholastic, Spectrum, Master Skills, Steck-Vaughn, Teacher Created Material, and Evan-Moor, etc. Q: What professional math resources do you use? A: I use resources such as printed teacher guides, hardback text from classroom if provided, selected workbooks from local businesses specializing in classroom materials put out by Spectrum, School Zone, Master Skills, Steck-Vaughn, Teacher Created Materials, and Evan-Moor, etc. Q: Will there be homework assigned? A: Yes. Depending on the age of the student and skill level, work will be assigned for the student to complete at home. Q: What is my parental role in your "team" approach to tutoring ("Team" is defined as student, parent(s), the tutor, and possibly school personnel.) A: Parental help on assignment only if indicated by the tutor, transportation, payment, developing a reward list with your child, feedback about student success, work habits, or concerns. Q: How do we start this tutoring relationship? A: Call me at 319-358-1405 or e-mail me at sueluloff@gmail.com. We then set up a one-time initial meeting for the team. I do some initial assessment during this 1-2 hour appointment with your child present. The charge for the initial consultation: $50 for 1 1/2 hours and $70 for 2 hours (consult fee due the day of the initial meeting). In follow-up sessions for the first month I continue to assess the student to fine-tune program development best suited for your child's needs. Q: Do you have references? A: References are available upon request. Q: How many years of experience do you have? A: Over 25 years. I look forward to meeting with you soon!
